Calling all dental professionals and families with an extreme sense of adventure...THIS MISSION TRIP IS FOR YOU!
Come serve alongside the indigenous people in the deep jungles of Costa Rica! Our partners on the ground are currently building a women’s shelter and many small homes where at-risk women and children can share in a sustainable community, education and protection.
Most women and their young families live in isolated primitive settings in the mountains with very little exposure to general health services and proper dental care. We will be setting up a fully operational dental clinic and serving at the local community center as well as traveling into the mountainous villages to serve those most in need.

Service Opportunity
Come serve alongside the indigenous and wonderful people in the deep jungles of Costa Rica! Our partners on the ground are currently building a women’s shelter and many small homes where at-risk women and children can share in a sustainable community, education and protection.
Culturally, in this area of Costa Rica, women and children are devalued which fosters an environment of abuse, neglect and trauma in all forms. This leads to high rates of teenage pregnancy and generational abuse. This specific area also has a large drug and alcohol addiction problem among teenage boys and young men. Most people in this are live in isolated primitive communities with little to no access general health services or proper dental care.
We will be setting up a dental clinic in the community center of the ministry we will be partnering with and will be seeing many children and women. We will also be venturing out into the more isolated villages to serve those most in need. The local ministry has an onsite farm, school and community center where there will be much opportunity to help and serve the local people as well.

Itinerary
Each morning we will start the day off with a spiritual devotional with the local ministry partners to prepare our hearts and hands for the work God wants to do in us and through us in Costa Rica!
We will work from approx 9am-3 pm for 4 days in a fully functioning dental clinic, with a lunch break in between. Throughout the trip we will be visiting with the locals and going into villages and the personal homes of those we will be serving. We will get to know the people and their needs and see first hand the living conditions and culture they experience on a daily basis. We will also be serving on site helping with various projects to help get more children's small homes up and functioning.
In the afternoons we will be able to experience amazing Costa Rica! We will enjoy local foods, go on hikes and play at the beach. The last full day we will enjoy ziplining through the gorgeous Costa Rican jungle and a beautiful hike to large waterfalls!

We will be staying off site at a gorgeous local boutique beach hotel. Blooming gardens adorn the property, as do several freely-hanging hammocks, providing the perfect spot for afternoon napping or leisurely reading!
The hotel consists of 25 beautiful private guest rooms with private baths, fans (some with A/C), and free WiFi. Most rooms are on the second floor of the main building, and open onto a large veranda with sweeping ocean and garden views.
Some rooms have a private hot tub and outdoor shower area. This hotel has an onsite restaurant and serves a complimentary yummy breakfast, a variety of lunch options and refreshing drinks throughout the day and night. The hotel offers an amazing pool area and gorgeous private beach with plenty of personal tiki huts!

We will be taking advantage of the lush landscape and will be doing many hiking and jungle exploring throughout the trip! On the last day we will be hiking to gorgeous waterfalls and doing some extreme jungle ziplining!

Who are the trips for?
Our mission trips are open to everyone with a heart to serve and a desire to grow. On each mission trip we will have 3 different teams of people: 1.)The dentists and the dental staff 2.) A ministry team 3.) A general service team.
The dental team will serve full time in the dental clinic doing dentistry. The ministry team will be onsite at the clinic running Christian programs with the adults and children, praying for people and ministering to those in need throughout the entire trip. The general service team will help ensure that the dental clinic is running smoothly and efficiently and will help wherever needed. They will be checking people in, sterilizing equipment, running instruments to doctors, working in the children's area and helping organize, set up and clean. Each team will get the opportunity to do home and village visits and an opportunity to grow in their faith by practicing ministering to the people if desired.
Most mission trips are open to children and adults 14 + who are mature, responsible and respectful. There will be a brief and simple training process put in place before each mission where each participant will be given specific responsibilities and duties to perform during each trip. This ensure that everyone is working hard, participating together and serving as a team unit. You DO NOT NEED TO BE A CHRISTIAN to participate in a mission adventure.

We partner with the American Christian Dental Association who is a non profit company and a 501 (c) corporation. All monies go through them and the entire trip is tax deductible.
Your busy. We get it. That's why we do ALL the work for you. You literally show up, serve and love on the people, deepen relationships, have a blast and go home. We take care of EVERYTHING! We have personally traveled to each location and have local partners on the ground. We have been on every excursion we will experience, visited every village we will go to, checked out (and approved) every hotel we will stay in and have worked closely with each local partner. High standards of excellence throughout every experience is our priority!
EVERYTHING is included. All meals, lodging, airport transfers, transportation, excursions, airfare and tipping are included in the total price. What is NOT included: Spending money, shopping money and your flight to and from the Dallas airport. All equipment, instruments and supplies are included and provided.
